Chore Service

Beloit Chore Service provides service for senior citizens throughout the City of Beloit.  Call (608)-365-5670 between the hours of 10 am - 2 pm.  Beloit Senior Chore Service has its office in Grinnell Hall Senior Center located at 631 Bluff Street.

Referrals are made to screened, qualified, independent contractors for home maintenance and repairs at affordable prices.    (The customer and the independent contractor negotiate fair and reasonable prices.)

Referrals for services--especially if the job requires professional expertise or licensing, or is too big for one person (contractor) to handle, or the individual requesting services does not meet eligibility requirements (resident of Beloit, low-income, senior).
How it works...
The Beloit Home Chore Service actively recruits independent contactors who provide quality service at reasonable rates.
1) All contractors are screened for criminal background, code violations, or consumer complaints. Depending on their experience, contractors may go through a probationary period before they are fully accepted as Chore Service workers.  We take great care to ensure contractors in the registry are reputable and trustworthy.
2) When a resident contacts us with a request for service, we contact an independent contractor from our registry that is able to assist you.
3) The independent contractor provides the customer with estimates of hourly rates for the work to be performed, and a determination of who purchases needed supplies.  Once an agreement is reached the work begins.
4) We conduct a follow-up interview with residents to ensure that you are satisfied with the quality and cost of the job.
What is it?
Some examples of the services available include, but are not limited to: any kind of yard work, snow removal, storm window/screen installation - as well as removal and washing, housekeeping, carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, inside or first story only painting, the installation and removal of air conditioners and running errands.

Note: Our program does not negotiate or control fees for service, however, we  do ensure contractors offer a fair and reasonable rate.

By providing access to qualified contractors who offer professional maintenance and repair services at affordable prices, the Beloit Chore Service has been helping older residents remain independent, and in their homes since 1992.
